Bethel's traditional social events
Oktoberfest
In October, when else? For the last 25 years, we have enjoyed an evening of good food, lots of fun, and great fellowship. The evening starts with the traditional ceremony of cutting the cabbage with a band saw, chain saw or other outragous kitchen tool, followed by a meal of sauerkraut and bratwurscht and ends with. . . well, you'll have to come see for yourself.
Servant Appreciation Event
In the fall, the staff at Bethel honours the volunteers who throughout the year have given of their time and talents by putting on a special fun evening of entertainment and refreshments.
Ladies'
Salad Supper
One of the Bible study groups at Bethel started a tradition some years back of hosting a pot-luck salad supper for ladies once a year, with a guest speaker to top off the evening.
It started out small, but the last few years a crowd of over 250 ladies has gathered for inspiration and ---an array of sumptous salads!
The Pastors' Christmas Party
Many years ago,-- can it be 20 years? That's how long
Pastor Marv has been at Bethel! -- started another tradition: he and Becky hosted a Christmas party for seniors. The first few years they invited us to their home. But no more. Now the crowd is too big so we meet in the lobby of the church.
