What is baptism?

Baptism is a sacrament and is the powerful connection of God's word and water that blesses us with God's grace and forgiveness.

When we are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we receive a new identity, becoming a child of God. Being baptized with water indicates that we should, by daily repentance, drown the old sinful nature within us so that we can rise up and walk in the newness of life.
